Construction Partners Inc., a publicly traded highway infrastructure company, is currently searching for a Corporate Safety Director to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the CPI organization and its operating companies. This position requires a deep understanding of construction safety standards, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to influence and make data-driven recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and operating company leaders, providing clear, data-driven recommendations on safety matters with broad organizational impact
- Champion a safety-first mindset across all business units, reinforcing shared responsibility for safe operations
- Provide guidance and recommendations regarding issues that may have company-wide impact
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve corporate safety programs, policies, and procedures that align with OSHA, MSHA, and industry best practices
- Analyze incident and trend data to identify key risk areas, and communicate findings and recommendations to regional presidents and senior leadership
- Communicate frequently with regional presidents to keep them apprised of trends and pertinent issues
- Prepare and present regular safety reports to executive leadership, outlining key performance indicators, incident trends, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with leadership and field teams to support alignment and execution of safety goals
- Partner with the risk management team to identify opportunities to reduce incidents and claims
- Stay up to date on emerging regulations, technologies, and safety strategies to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in a construction-related field)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in construction safety, with multi-site or corporate-level oversight
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local safety standards
- Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety practices in mining/quarry operations
- Proven ability to lead through influence and earn trust across diverse teams and business units
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated experience analyzing safety data and presenting insights to executive leadership
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to safety management
