Corporate Secretary Vaagen Bros. Lumber Inc. is a family-owned wood products manufacturer that has operated in northeastern Washington for over 70 years. We heavily believe in continuous improvement and respect for people and are currently in a Lean transformation. We operate sawmills in Colville and Usk, WA. Vaagen Bros. currently employs over 175 employees. The company is searching for a business professional to fill the role of Corporate Secretary. A successful candidate will provide professional assistance to vendors, customers, employees, and the management team. Candidates should excel in a fast-paced environment that requires a high level of attention to detail, personal initiative, and ability to meet strict deadlines. JOB DUTIES: * Provide day-to-day professional support to the executive team and departments, including answering/routing phone calls, greeting walk-ins, processing incoming and outgoing mail * Responsible for arranging the logistics of transportation, lodging, & conferences, for travel needs * Transcribe and proofread documents including letters, memos, emails, forms, reports, etc. * Schedule conference rooms and meetings * Managing and handling special requests from the executive team, and departments * Ensuring a clean and tidy office environment * Maintain schedules and calendars of executive team  * Maintain office supply inventory levels, anticipating and ordering needed supplies * Upholding professionalism and confidentiality with all materials, and exercise discretion  * Help build company culture by organizing events to support employee engagement * Process and reconcile petty cash and merchant card retail payments  * Assist accounting with daily bank reconciliations and check deposits * Other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Exceptional customer service * Strong problem solving, planning, troubleshooting, and organizational skills * Desire to truly be helpful to your leaders and co-workers, to go the extra mile without being asked * Sharp written and verbal communication skills, including clean grammar and a robust vocabulary * Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products, and strong computer skills * Understanding of governance process and legal principles, preferred  * Two+ years related experience required * Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; preferred  * Ability to streamline processes and cut waste within area of responsibility * Lean techniques and experience preferred   * Safe work record, good attendance record * Must be 18+ years old to work in an industrial sawmill environment * Must have HS Diploma/GED * Must be able to continuously stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders safely.  The weight required to be lifted each normal workday may occasionally exceed fifty (50) pounds at a time * Applicants will be subject to a criminal background check.  However, having a criminal record will not automatically eliminate you from consideration for the job.  Records will be considered based on the requirements of RCW 9.96A.020, RCW 43.43, WAC * Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and pre-employment physical exam HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE: * 40+ hours a week * Full time SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS: * Pay: $19.00-$26.00 * FLSA Status: Non-Exempt * Full benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, long term disability and 401k with match      For more information, please visit our website www.vaagenbros.com [http://www.vaagenbros.com] or our social media platforms.
