Our market-leading Te Waka Ture / Māori legal group are looking for a corporate and commercial lawyer to join the firm’s Auckland office. Te Waka Ture specialise in Māori law issues and provide commercial legal advice, including governance, to support iwi, hapū, Māori landowners, Māori businesses, and those looking to work alongside them. We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in corporate and commercial work, ideally with exposure to working with iwi entities and Māori businesses – or a strong drive to enter this sector. As the successful candidate, you will be working closely with Hoa Rangapū,Te Aopare Dewes, the lead for our Te Waka Ture group. Te Aopare specialises in corporate structuring, governance, strategic and commercial advice and is recognised as a Leading Lawyer for Māori Law, Māori Land and Te Tiriti o Waitangi matters in Aotearoa. You will be exposed to interesting and challenging work, and there will be scope for you to build your practice and long-term client relationships and to advance within the firm.
