Role Summary The Corporate Strategy and Performance Lead will be responsible for defining, monitoring and driving the GCF’s strategic priorities and performance objectives. The role ensures that Fund strategy is translated into actionable plans through management of the Secretariat’s corporate strategy and work planning processes, performance reporting and identifying ways to optimize Secretariat performance in delivering the GCF Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will dissect data to understand what makes GCF tick, pinpoint areas for improvement, isolate key indicators to drive performance gains, and track overall implementation, working hand-in-hand with managers across the Secretariat. S/he will be a data-driven, analytical, systems thinker who develops a deep understanding of the GCF business and uses available performance data to generate insight and advise senior management. S/he will also deliver solutions to strengthen systems and practices for corporate work planning and OKR/KPI development, performance monitoring and data management, project management oversight, and Board reporting and accountability, based on deep knowledge of best practices. S/he will be a self-starting collaborator who succeeds in delivering results through effective networking, collaboration and influencing stakeholders across the Secretariat to drive continuous improvement and organizational excellence. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Corporate Strategy and Strategic Planning 1. Support the development, evolution and execution of the GCF’s long term corporate strategy and Strategic Plans, including leading analysis of institutional and operational implications 2. Drive the translation of GCF strategy into strategic initiatives, programming ambitions and business plan and integrated work programmes 3. Evolve systems, tools and practices for corporate strategy, work planning, performance monitoring, reporting and accountability that support collaborative, impactful and efficient delivery of the GCF Strategic Plan 4. Monitor trends and evolutions in the climate finance landscape (e.g. ODA, contributor priorities, country needs, competitive landscape, partners networks) and advise executive leadership on possible implications for GCF’s corporate strategy 5. Generate insights from corporate strategy and performance data, periodic performance reviews, capability reviews, IEU evaluations, internal audits, risk control self-assessments, policy and programming experience to advise the executive leadership on opportunities to optimize Secretariat performance 6. Support change management efforts through effective planning and coordination with various groups throughout the design and implementation of the GCFs long-term corporate strategy and Strategic Plans. 2. Strategic Alignment, Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement 1. Advise executive leader, Offices and Departments across the Fund on alignment with GCF’s corporate strategy and Strategic Plans 2. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure all departments understand and are aligned with the GCF’s overarching corporate strategy and Strategic Plans, working closely with departmental teams to integrate the Fund’s strategic priorities into their sub-strategies, work programs and day-to-day decisions 3. Build effective networks, facilitate collaboration and influence executive leaders and management across the Secretariat to build buy-in to strategic initiatives, and consolidate a culture of performance excellence and innovation 4. Engage and communicate widely across the Secretariat to understand the organizational pulse, gather feedback on progress and enable course correction 5. Co-design and build cross-Secretariat alignment behind initiatives to strengthen corporate strategy and performance systems and practices, and influence to effect change 6. Identify, develop, and foster relationships with industry thought leaders to apply the latest knowledge and best practice thinking 3. Strategy Execution, Performance Management & Delivery 1. Prepare and lead engagement with executive leadership and the Bord on complex, multi-faceted, multi-year Secretariat Work Progamme, including corporate results framework 2. Drive delivery of a complex, multi-faceted, multi-year, cross-Secretariat program of work, requiring project management of multiple parallel initiatives, prioritized in light of strategic priorities and resource availability 3. Manage regular tracking of strategic initiatives, and prepare analysis and advice for executive management and the Board, including on corrective action needed 4. Work with cross-Secretariat data and IT functions to strengthen corporate strategy and performance management systems and dashboards, enabling real-time automated access to performance metric data, and easy visualization for decision-makers 5. Prepare periodic reports to executive leadership and the GCF Board on Secretariat performance, including against the delivery of Strategic Plans and multi-annual Secretariat Work Programme Requirements * Masters or higher-level degree in business administration or another relevant field; or Bachelors degree plus 2 additional years of experience * 11 years or more relevant experience, including at management level, in organizational strategy and/or performance management roles, with preference of experience in international organizations * Deep knowledge of corporate performance and project management frameworks and best practices, including KPI and OKR setting * Excellent portfolio and project management and organizational skills, with high level of attention to detail and data-driven approach to planning and decision-making * Excellent leadership, communication and influencing abilities including the ability to drive innovation and change in a constantly evolving environment * Proven ability to collaborate across diverse teams, agendas and perspectives, integrate inputs into a coherent plan of action, follow through on implementation of initiatives and problem-solve issues * Strong analytical skills and writing skills * Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, be hands-on, and multi-task * Desire to make a difference in contributing to the mission of the world’s largest dedicated climate change fund * Ability to engage in abstract thinking and design thinking is an advantage * Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language is an advantage For details on grade levels, salary scales and benefits, please refer to: https://www.greenclimate.fund/document/staff-regulations The closing date for application is 24 May 2026.
