Job Description
The Corporate Tax Manager position is a key member of our Group Tax team, reporting to the Tax Director, Corporate based in our head office at Arbor Bankside, Blackfriars, London.
The role involves managing UK tax compliance for Corporate head office companies and assisting with internal & external financial reporting. Responsibilities
  • Corporate tax compliance - responsible for the corporate tax compliance, including reviewing corporation tax computations of Corporate HQ companies prepared by outsourced provider.
  • Dealing with HMRC enquiries for Corporate HQ companies
  • Coordination of UK group tax issues including group relief management, CIR and ensuring appropriate claims and elections.
  • Contributing to the continued improvement and efficiency of the UK compliance process, monitoring risk controls and maintenance of the UK corporate tax compliance manual.
  • Review of tax numbers for Corporate HQ companies which will feed into the consolidated group accounts.
  • Preparation of consolidated Group tax numbers and disclosure notes for the Annual Report and Accounts and Interim reporting under IFRS
  • Providing input into Smiths approach to ESG and transparency developments related to tax.
  • Tax disclosure for the UK Statutory Accounts under UK GAAP
  • Supporting Tax Director, Corporate with internal tax reporting including budget, forecasts, year-end, and quarterly reporting.
  • Supporting and the Group’s transfer pricing procedures, including responsibility for liaising with the Group Transfer Pricing team, Regional tax and advisors in preparing and filing the annual Country by Country Reporting
  • Coordination of the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) notification and certification process.
  • Assisting with BEPS Pillar 2, compliance & Reporting
  • Involvement in process improvements for tax compliance and reporting, including consideration of automation and technology applications.
  • Preparation of tax forms for Corporate companies and liaising with HMRC in assisting finance teams obtain treaty exemptions or reduced withholding tax rates.
