Job Details Job Location: GA-COL Columbus Corps Admin Office - COLUMBUS, GA 31909 Position Type: Full Time Regular Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Salary Range: $23.00 - $23.00 Hourly Job Category: Finance This position is responsible for: Receipts and deposits all income in a timely manner; posts income to correct accounts; ensures receipts are written for all cash received from staff or donors. Maintains Capital Campaign accounting (receipting and depositing income, keeping financial records and books). Conducts monthly closing of all accounts including closing, balancing, and reconciling accounts with bank statements. Reviews posting of all balance sheet accounts, and income and expense accounts for errors; prepares journal correction on adjustments and errors for each month; inputs the same into the accounting system after the Controller’s review. Prepares of all month-end financial reporting and all audit work papers as required by internal and independent auditors. Key responsibilities: Receipts and deposits all income in a timely manner; posts income to correct accounts; ensures receipts are written for all cash received from staff or donors. Secures any undeposited cash or checks in the safe. Pays invoices which have been approved for payment by the Commanding Officer; posts expenses to correct accounts. Conducts monthly closing of all accounts including closing, balancing, and reconciling accounts with bank statements. Maintains daily cash on hand balances for all accounts (Corps, Thrift, Capital Campaign). Records soldiers weekly cartridge (tithes and World Services) giving on report. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
