About the role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to meet the spiritual, emotional, social and physical needs of people in the local community. This role leads a community of Salvationists and friends in facilitating The Salvation Army’s mission in the local area. How you will make an impact As a vital member of the Corps Leadership Team, your responsibilities will include: Actively share the gospel within the community and engage in self-development opportunities that support the ministry Facilitate worship events, discipleship groups, fellowship and special events Lead pastoral care to the Corps and the community Encourage potential candidates for Officership and Aux Lieutenancy Organise and lead prayer meetings as well as preach and teach when necessary Represent the Salvation Army by being an active and visible member of the community collaborating with our services such as Doorways and Salvos Stores Work in harmony with local government, key businesses, emergency services to support the community Lead a team, managing personnel of local leaders, staff and volunteers with clear expectations, active supervision and support. Manage and adhere to budgets, maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative records, oversee building maintenance What you will bring Proven leadership (spiritual and organisational), pastoral capabilities and a strong Christian faith. Sound communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact positively with a variety of people. Tertiary qualifications [minimum diploma level] in Mission, Theology, teaching, psychology, social work, youth work or community services, or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge, and skill. Well-developed team-building capacity. A mandatory requirement of this role is to be a Soldier and commit to the Soldiers Covenant prior to entering an employment contract. This role may require work to be undertaken on weekends and outside of usual business hours including Easter, Christmas, Red Shield Appeal period.
