JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CADET! (PER DIEM)

Our team of correctional officers engage in a mix of security and social work, and a career with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office can take you to places you never imagined. A Correctional Officer Cadet is responsible for the care, custody and supervision of inmates in a correctional institution. The work includes, but is not limited to, daily supervision of inmate occupational, vocational, rehabilitation and recreational activities. Cadets who excel at the job have an opportunity to earn a position in our Correctional Officer Academy, and transition into full-time staff with a variety of opportunities across our five facilities.
Work Schedule: A Cadet must be able to work a flexible schedule, any shift, any day of the week. This is a per-diem position paying $25 an hour.

REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants subject to physical fitness test
• Must pass criminal background check
• Must pass drug screening, medical clearance and psychological testing
