This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters! Description of Work Salary Range: $41,655 - $72,897 Reporting to the Correctional Warden I, this position will direct programs for rehabilitating male offenders in a minimum custody level correctional facility. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: - Functioning as the assistant to the Correctional Warden of a minimum custody institution offering various program services. - Directing a major program in an area or on a statewide basis. The primary programs’ areas are offender classification, correctional programs (adult basic education, work release, incentive wage, recreation, religion, volunteer programs, home leave), and supportive counseling. - Supervising subordinate personnel who are responsible for the implementation, development, and maintenance of programs daily. - Serving in a custody role during emergencies such as disturbances and escapes. - Coordinating programs with custody staff. - Completing special projects and/or other duties as assigned by the Associate Warden and/or Warden. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Management Preferences: Documented skills in supervision and management techniques Documented knowledge of supportive counseling techniques Documented report writing skills This is a RE-POST of position 60072473.
