JOB SUMMARY:

The Correspondent Banking Specialist is responsible for administering the daily operational activity of the correspondent banking department. This position will manage the daily cash position for all correspondent banks and provide support the correspondent banking team, ensuring highest level of client service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of banking experience in banking operations or related area required.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced computer knowledge with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily balancing functions for correspondent clients including general ledger balancing, wire transfers, currency & coin, processing daily entries, problem research and resolution.
  • Coordinate overnight investment decisions.
  • Meet all critical deadlines as dictated by upstream correspondent banks, system-related cut-offs, downstream correspondent bank expectations, etc., paying close attention to details and accuracy on all transactions.
  • Assist with preparation of various reports and audit requests, as well as researching trends to ensure accuracy of documentation.
  • Collaborate on the development and maintenance of policies and procedures within the correspondent banking department, focusing on continuous process improvements and automating daily procedures.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the financial industry, product offerings and current issues that impact our correspondent banks and the services they require.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all bank clients.
  • Collaborate with a variety of individuals and teams in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Comply with all company or regulatory policies, procedures and requirements that are applicable to this position.
  • Foster and preserve a culture of inclusion.
