WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN ON-SITE COST ACCOUNTANT IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.
Our client is a growing and innovative manufacturing company based in Surrey, B.C. The Cost Accountant will be a key business partner at the plant level, supporting operational efficiency and strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis.
Cost Accountant responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs, providing timely recommendations when performance targets are not met
- Support strategic decision-making by aligning operational data with financial goals
- Analyze production and operational data to identify trends and areas for process optimization
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and cost KPIs
- Maintain accurate standard costing, including BOMs, routings, and production cost analysis
- Monitor inventory movements and support physical counts and cycle counting
- Assist in the development of plant-level budgets, forecasts, and financial models
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger and track capital projects
- Work closely with the Controller and President to provide analytical insights and support business strategy
The successful candidate has:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing or cost accounting
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred but not required
- A strong understanding of cost accounting principles and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting tools
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation and benefits:
- Salary range is $70,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
- Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
