WE’RE LOOKING FOR AN ON-SITE COST ACCOUNTANT IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.

Our client is a growing and innovative manufacturing company based in Surrey, B.C. The Cost Accountant will be a key business partner at the plant level, supporting operational efficiency and strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis.

Cost Accountant responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs, providing timely recommendations when performance targets are not met
  • Support strategic decision-making by aligning operational data with financial goals
  • Analyze production and operational data to identify trends and areas for process optimization
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and cost KPIs
  • Maintain accurate standard costing, including BOMs, routings, and production cost analysis
  • Monitor inventory movements and support physical counts and cycle counting
  • Assist in the development of plant-level budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Maintain the fixed asset ledger and track capital projects
  • Work closely with the Controller and President to provide analytical insights and support business strategy

The successful candidate has:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing or cost accounting
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred but not required
  • A strong understanding of cost accounting principles and ERP systems
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial reporting tools
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation and benefits:

  • Salary range is $70,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
  • Candidates with additional experience and higher compensation expectations may also be considered
