BOMImed Inc is seeking a Cost Accountant to join our growing team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining standard costs, analyzing cost variances, and supporting inventory valuation and margin analysis. This role works closely with operations, procurement, and R&D to identify cost drivers, improve efficiency, and support budgeting and forecasting. Additional responsibilities include managing capital assets, maintaining costing models, supporting SR&ED and IRAP claims, and using ERP (Infor) and tools like Power BI for reporting and analysis.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· CPA designation (or in progress) is required.
· 2+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment required.
· Experience with Canadian government funding programs (SR&ED and/or IRAP) (asset)
· Proficient in Excel; ERP experience required (Infor, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
· Experience with capital asset management and Power BI is considered an asset.

· Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, labour, and overhead.
· Track actual vs. standard costs and report on variances across departments and products. · Collaborate with operations and procurement to investigate cost drivers and identify efficiency opportunities.
· Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory reconciliations and valuation.
· Prepare detailed cost and profitability reports for management, product lines, and R&D projects.
· Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of costing models for new and existing products.
· Maintain and track capital assets, ensuring accurate recording, depreciation, and disposals in accordance with accounting standards.
· Use the ERP system (Infor) for transaction tracking, reporting, inventory costing, and asset management.
· Log, track, and escalate ERP system issues with the software provider as needed, in coordination with internal IT or support teams.
· Leverage tools like Power BI to visualize cost trends, operational insights, and KPIs (asset).
· Track and document eligible R&D expenses for SR&ED tax credit claims in compliance with CRA guidelines.
· Work with R&D, engineering, and finance teams to ensure proper documentation of project costs, time tracking, and technical activities.
· Assist with preparation of supporting financial documentation for IRAP funding applications and claims.
· Maintain internal controls
· Create Standard Operating Procedures, forms and other documentation as required.
· Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.
