EggSolutions-Vanderpols Inc. formally known as Vanderpols Eggs. A food processing plant that receives shell egg’s and breaks them into liquid egg and frozen finished egg product. Packaging configuration exist for a wide range of customers including retail, distributors, and manufactures.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our finance team in Abbotsford, BC. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for analyzing manufacturing financial data and providing insights into inventory, labor, and purchasing costs. The role plays a key part in supporting business decisions, developing forecasts, and driving cost efficiencies across three manufacturing entities.
The successful candidate will also participate in system controls, budget planning, audits, and mentoring team members on cost-related ERP functions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (required).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in management and cost accounting.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems and standard costing environments.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead cost accounting functions with an understanding of domestic and international agricultural supply management costing structures.
  • Engage in team work on the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements for three manufacturing entities.
  • Oversee costing processes during financial closure, including variance analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to drive budgeting, forecasting, dashboard development, and strategic planning.
  • Mentor and support all branches in the use and optimization of a standard cost ERP system.
  • Develop and implement system controls to ensure financial integrity and operational protection.
  • Lead segment quantity audits, year-end inventory counts, and support the annual audit and financial statement finalization.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE MEANS:

  • Delivering accurate, actionable financial reports.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to the finance team.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Supporting long-term financial planning and operational efficiency.
