Financial Debt Recovery Ltd. is experiencing growth in Canada and the US, and we are now seeking a Cost Accountant with hands on experience to support our accounting team.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Cost Accountant. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing budget reports, implementing cost control measures, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, identify cost drivers, and develop strategies to optimize costs and improve profitability. You will also be responsible for monitoring inventory, conducting variance analysis, and providing recommendations for process improvements.
Ultimately, you should build updated databases and manage cost information to maximize profitability for our company.
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, On site (No remote work)

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Experience with accounting software, like QuickBooks, Sage 300
  • Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables), MS Office Suite
  • Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or similar role
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent numerical accuracy
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Strong time management skills
  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASPE
