OVERVIEW:

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Cost Accountant for a 6-month contract role in Seattle, WA. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for analyzing cost data, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate tracking of expenses to support decision-making and financial planning. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2+ years of cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex data clearly.

• Collect, analyze, and report on cost data related to manufacturing, labor, and overhead.
• Prepare standard cost models and assist with variance analysis.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions, including work-in-progress and finished goods.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning by providing cost insights.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with cost accounting entries.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Provide documentation and analysis for audits as needed.
