POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting cost-related information, supporting business decisions with accurate financial data, and helping to improve profitability and cost efficiency.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and processes.
  • Monitor and report on inventory valuations, cost of goods sold, and variances.
  • Conduct margin analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work closely with operations and production teams to track and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting.
  • Prepare audit documentation and support external/internal audit requirements.
  • Attend and participate in annual inventory counts.
  • Continuously improve systems and processes to streamline costing practices.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (designation preferred).
  • 3+ years of proven experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Netsuite, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
