Reports To: Financial Controller

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Ontario. This is an excellent
opportunity for a young professional with a diploma in accounting or business who is pursuing their CPA designation
part-time while gaining practical experience.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for numbers, strong analytical skills, and a personable demeanor. You will play a
vital role in managing cost analysis, presenting data-driven insights, and supporting financial decision-making processes
within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze cost data to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain cost standards, including overhead allocations and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with various departments to track and control inventory costs.
- Provide management with insights and recommendations through detailed financial reporting and analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Present facts, data, and analyses in a clear and concise manner to management and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize financial processes.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma in Accounting, Business, or a related field from a recognized college or university.
- Certification: Actively pursuing or planning to pursue CPA designation part-time.
- Skills:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Excellent mathematical ability and attention to detail.
o Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
o Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data to management.
- Personal Attributes:
o Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
o Personable and collaborative team player.
o Strong organizational and time management skills to balance work and studies effectively.
