JOB SUMMARY:

The Cost Accountant performs a variety of tasks to ensure the accuracy of the Company’s cost data and, in turn, its financial reports. This employee provides accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting department and helps provide financial information in support of the operations department.
This role reports to the Assistant Controller for Cost Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• Manage the inventory item master including new item creation and BOM corrections
• Calculate and communicate efficiency rates on multiple product lines regularly
• Assist with regular reviews of labor and overhead capitalization rates
• Perform month-end account reconciliations in support of close process
• Prepare various journal entries related to inventory and allocations
• Help with the monthly analysis and presentation of financial data relating to inventory
• Assist with the annual budget preparation and regular forecasting efforts
• Enter, review, and correct inventory adjustment transactions in NetSuite
• Manage and monitor the Company’s cycle count processes
• Calculate the monthly capitalization rate of inventory received from overseas
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and inventory count assistance
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
• Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
