POSITION DESCRIPTION

The cost accountant is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and control of general ledger accounts ensuring the accuracy of data that includes thorough review and analysis of financial records, with an emphasis in inventory, costs associated with production, margin analysis and tracing costs back to underlying activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ABILITIES

• Strong understanding of cost systems and accounting principles (required)
• Knowledge of standard costing and activity-based costing (ABC) (preferred)
• Knowledge of ERP systems (preferred)
• Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks (preferred)
• Excellent analytical skills (required)
• Strong problem-solving skills (required)
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail (required)
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (required)
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (required)

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience is required. Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis in cost accounting is preferred. Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
