Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Determine and update standard costs and investigate variances in estimated costs vs actual costs;
  • Perform inventory counts, including travel to locations within Canada;
  • Identify, analyze and investigate inventory count variances;
  • Gather and analyze financial data;
  • Review and approve invoice coding and transactions;
  • Prepare and maintain costing schedules;
  • Perform monthly and weekly inventory and related financial reports;
  • Active participation in the month-end/year-end closure process and annual audit;
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasts during the year; and,
  • Other related finance and/or accounting tasks.

THIS ROLE REQUIRES:

  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Post secondary education with an Accounting or Finance focus.
  • A CPA designation (or near completion) preferred.
  • Combination of education and experience will be recognized and considered.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Requirements and Practices
  • Understanding of data privacy standards.
  • Intermediate to advance Excel knowledge
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
  • Superior interpersonal skills, integrity and honesty
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates confidence and a collaborative attitude with all team members.
  • Ability to effectively balance priorities and ensure all documents are produced accurately and to specification in a timely manner.
  • Effectively works independently with minimal direction.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records and information.
  • Attention to detail and high level of mental concentration.
  • Ability to travel within Canada.
  • Strong organization ability.
