Description

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the accounting and finance teams. This includes creating and maintaining the Bill of Material (BOM); ensuring Work Orders (WO) are correct and maintaining accurate costs. This role will report into the Johnson City Cost Accountant.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • AA degree in business, supply chain, engineering or related field required, BA/BS preferred.
  • Strong cross functional collaboration skills, and the ability to develop strong relationships within the organization to gain support and achieve results
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload and achieve deadlines based upon changing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze, synthesize, and report on large volumes of information
  • Proven experience to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations of limited standardization
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite or Oracle-based ERP and Power BI are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain BOM’s (Bill of Material) and cost roll-ups to include maintaining and setting up inventory parts, product structures, manufacturing routing process and compound structures. Play a vital role in minimizing errors and reducing production delays by ensuring the BOM accurately reflects what is required for manufacturing.
  • Manage the process for engineering changes, assessing their impact on the BOM, costs and implementing necessary updates.
  • Ensure all part numbers, components, and assemblies are correctly documented in the company’s ERP or PLM systems.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing teams to ensure Work Orders are correct and help solve any challenges.
  • Conduct time studies as needed to ensure costs are current.
  • Coordinate with the Demand Planning team to ensure the inventory setup in the BOM is appropriate.
  • Participate in monthly closing, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare various management reports to assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
  • Other duties as assigned.
