In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing project finances, ensuring cost efficiency, and delivering transparent financial insights to support strategic decision-making. As a Cost Control Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust cost control systems, monitoring project expenditures, and providing actionable recommendations to optimize project performance and profitability. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cost control systems, procedures, and frameworks aligned with project requirements and organizational standards Monitor and track project budgets, commitments, expenditures, and financial forecasts with precision and transparency Prepare detailed cost reports, variance analyses, and performance forecasts for management review and stakeholder presentations Analyze project performance metrics including Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), and earned value analysis to identify trends and deviations Review, verify, and approve subcontractors' and suppliers' invoices, variations, and change orders while ensuring accuracy and compliance Collaborate with planning, procurement, and commercial departments to ensure cost alignment and identify potential cost savings opportunities Support project management in identifying financial risks, cost deviations, and mitigation strategies to maintain budget integrity Participate actively in budget preparation, tender evaluation processes, and project closing reports Provide monthly cost reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management with clear insights and recommendations Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve cost-related issues and implement corrective actions efficiently Qualifications **Required Qualifications:** Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or equivalent discipline Minimum 5 years of professional experience in cost control, cost engineering, or project financial management within construction or infrastructure projects Proficiency in cost management software and ERP systems (e.g., Xpedeon, SAP, Oracle, Candy or similar platforms) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse stakeholders Solid knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management principles Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in financial documentation **Preferred Qualifications:** Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) certification Experience with invoice and variation management processes Familiarity with construction industry standards and best practices Experience in vendor and supplier coordination and negotiation Knowledge of risk management and contingency planning in project environments Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects in the Middle East region Business Line: Consulting and Operations Type of contract: Permanent contract Service Line: OnM Operations Region: Middle East and South Asia Job Family: Project Planning Profession: Project Planning Analyst II
