Description

Quinn Downes is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cost Controller to join our Service and Maintenance team on a temporary basis, covering a maternity leave. This role will provide essential support to the QS Cost Control function, assisting with the commercial and administrative management of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contracts and quoted works.
With a direct line to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will work closely with the wider operations, estimation and QS teams, gaining valuable experience while contributing to the smooth running of cost control processes during this period.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Good written and verbal communication.
Comfortable working independently and within a team.
Numerically literate with an interest in cost analysis and commercial processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of PowerPoint is a plus.
Willingness to learn and take initiative

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and documenting PPM tenders, renewals, variations, and pre-qualification submissions.
Support cost tracking and reporting activities related to ongoing service and maintenance contracts.
Help monitor tender opportunities and report findings to the Operations team.
Support subcontractor engagement - including obtaining quotations and resolving invoice queries.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate job close-outs for invoicing.
Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting on operational and account performance.
Help track labour and material usage, flagging any variances or trends.
Support the ongoing development and maintenance of internal cost control processes and systems.
Attend internal and customer meetings as needed, taking notes and following up on actions.
