Description

Robert Half is recruiting for a Cost Controller/ Cost Accountant with strong Cost accounting experience for a grocery/retail client. The consultant will create and prepare cost analysis reports in Excel for 2 plant locations. In addition the Controller will develop procedures to improve cost accounting practices. This role will be located onsite in Corona, CA.

SKILLS:

  • Maintain and manage cost accounting systems to ensure accurate classification of costs.
  • Perform variance analysis by comparing actual costs to budgeted/forecasted costs and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to monitor standard costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, tracking cost of goods sold (COGS), and related adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and internal company policies.
  • Develop and enhance procedures to improve efficiency in cost accounting practices
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports to support management in making informed business decisions.
  • Famous system ( not required), strong Excel is required

  • Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory valuation and cost of goods sold analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement cost accounting procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments, fostering teamwork and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with controllership responsibilities and practices.
