Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Emirati Graduate to join our Waste-to-Energy O&M plant in Dubai as a Junior Cost Controller. This role is designed for a fresh graduate looking to start a career in cost control and industrial finance. You will support the Finance team in monitoring operational costs, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities. You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, and Warehouse teams to understand how plant activities translate into financial performance. During the first six months, you will rotate across key departments (Accounting, Procurement, Stores, Operations, and Maintenance) to gain a strong understanding of plant processes, cost drivers, and financial workflows. This position offers structured learning, mentoring, and hands-on exposure to a large industrial O&M environment. Eligibility This position is exclusively open to UAE Nationals in alignment with our commitment to the Nafis program. Key Responsibilities Cost Monitoring & Support Assist in monitoring O&M expenditures against approved budgets and forecasts. Support tracking of key cost categories such as spare parts, consumables, chemicals, manpower, and utilities. Help ensure accurate allocation of costs to cost centers and activities. Review purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices for completeness and basic financial accuracy. Support inventory cost tracking and consumption analysis in coordination with the warehouse team. Assist in preparing monthly cost reports and basic variance analysis. Support the preparation of dashboards using Excel, Power BI and ERP data (D365). Participate in monthly closing activities, including data collection and accrual preparation. Collect and consolidate financial and operational data for management reporting. Support the preparation of the annual O&M budget by gathering data and preparing templates. Assist in quarterly forecast updates based on actual performance. Help track budget utilization and highlight deviations to the Finance team. Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance teams to understand cost drivers. Assist in tracking maintenance work orders within the CMMS system to ensure proper cost recording. Support verification of subcontractor invoices against work completion and contractual terms. Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 0–2 years of experience (internships or university projects in finance/accounting are a plus). No prior industrial experience required, willingness to learn is essential. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables preferred). Familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage. Understanding of accounting principles. Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail. Eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Organized and able to manage tasks under supervision.
