As part of the CIMIC Group, UGL partners with major operators to deliver brownfield LNG shutdowns, turnarounds and major maintenance programs across Australia. About the role We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to support the financial delivery of major LNG shutdowns and turnaround campaigns. This is a critical project controls role suited to a detail-oriented professional who can develop, implement and manage cost control frameworks across all shutdown phases. You will play a key role in tracking performance, managing forecasts and ensuring shutdown delivery aligns with budget, schedule and commercial expectations. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain a fully integrated shutdown cost control system and cost tracker • Set up and manage project structures within SAP (WBS, Capex/Opex alignment) • Review contractor cost estimates, quotations and prior shutdown benchmarks • Manage purchase orders, coding and contractor cost tracking processes • Perform month-end activities including accruals, cost trending and reporting • Monitor cost performance, identify variances and recommend mitigation strategies • Manage forecasting, change control, trends and emergent work processes • Support daily cost reporting during shutdown execution • Analyse invoices, contractor claims and resolve discrepancies or disputes • Ensure contractor labour tracking (e.g. Fieldglass) and financial accuracy • Prepare reporting packs including dashboards, graphs and performance insights • Lead financial close-out, final cost reporting and WBS closure About you • Proven experience as a Cost Controller in LNG, oil & gas or heavy industry shutdowns • Strong knowledge of shutdown cost management, forecasting and reporting • Experience with SAP, cost control systems and project reporting tools (e.g. Prism, P6 integration advantageous) • Ability to manage high-volume data, contractor costs and complex financial workflows • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills • High attention to detail with the ability to work in fast-paced shutdown environments • Effective stakeholder engagement across operations, contractors and project teams What we offer • Contract role supporting Tier 1 LNG shutdown projects • Exposure to complex brownfield environments and large-scale turnaround programs • Competitive day rates aligned to experience • Dynamic shutdown delivery environment with repeat campaign opportunities • Opportunity to work alongside experienced shutdown and project controls teams About UGL UGL is part of the CIMIC Group, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
