These specialists are organized into distinct groups: Job Description Egis is seeking a highly motivated Quantity & Cost Estimator to join our team, focusing primarily on roadway, highway, and other infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a junior to mid-level engineer eager to apply foundational civil engineering knowledge to real-world design and construction challenges under the mentorship of senior-level professional engineers. 1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting Prepare preliminary and definitive cost estimates for road projects, including highways, interchanges, bridges, drainage systems, and associated infrastructure. Develop Bill of Quantities (BoQ) based on detailed design drawings and specifications. Perform cost planning and value engineering analysis to optimize project budgets without compromising on quality or safety. Analyze and price variation orders and change requests during the construction phase. Utilize industry-standard software and advanced Excel modeling. Familiar with AHSP developed by BM 2. Procurement & Tendering Prepare tender documents, including BoQ, pricing schedules, and conditions of contract. Evaluate and analyze contractors and subcontractors’ bids for compliance and cost reasonableness. Lead commercial negotiations with contractors and suppliers. 3. PPP & Financial Analysis Develop life-cycle cost models for PPP road projects, including capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX) forecasts. Model and estimate costs for long-term road maintenance and operation, a critical component of PPP concessions. Interface with financial advisors and lenders to provide technical input for financial models and feasibility studies. Analyze and quantify risk factors and their potential cost implications for PPP bids. 4. Indonesian Market Expertise Maintain an up-to-date database of local material prices, labor rates, equipment rental costs, and Indonesian regulations (e.g., SNI standards, local tax implications). Understand and apply regional cost variations across different provinces in Indonesia. Verify and adapt estimates based on the market. 5. Others Visiting sites (if needed) to gather information and determine limitations and feasibility of designs. Communicating potential design issues to engineers and Team Leader/Project Manager. Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in civil engineering or any relevant field SKILLS Proficiency in Excel, Ms Project, CAD software, and other engineering tools. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of industry standards, national code and regulations Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Superb work ethic and ability to accept feedback. EXPERIENCE At least 5 years of relevant experience is required Familiar with PPP road projects in Indonesia Experience in an engineering consultant firm or contractor is required. Experience abroad is a strong advantage LANGUAGES Indonesian and English: it is required to understand reading, writing, and speaking.
