Together!​ Job Description Make your mark as Cost Estimator at Boskalis Offshore Energy. As Cost Estimator you have impact on the contracts we win and are well-known for, which means you are partly responsible for the success of Boskalis! In this position you fulfill a key role in successfully completing a tender phase from kick-off to submission. After all, you are connected to all internal processes and therefore the one to ensure that the various departments provide their input in time. Their input is what you use to properly advise on different scenarios and associated cost estimates for our projects. Imagine yourself contributing to our various international and one of a kind projects which often get media exposure, such as: The transport and installation of five floating wind turbines for the Kincardine floating wind farm. The installation scope for a large offshore wind farm, the Taiwanese Changfang and Xidao project. Your responsibilities as Cost Estimator Coming up with different scenarios and drawing up a cost calculation or budget, based on customer demand and the available specification and tender documents. Arranging the registration of documents and keeping the calculation / budget file and the calculation database up to date. Advising on risk scenarios during risk sessions in the tender or implementation phase. Supporting the project team with work preparation, such as drawing up a concept plan and initiating a working budget. Inventory and assess prices at subcontractors, hiring services and suppliers. Challenge the tender team and stakeholders on their inputs to create an accurate cost basis. Your qualities You can make your mark as Cost Estimator if you have: At least 4 years of relevant work experience as Cost Estimator in a project oriented company in Offshore Energy, preferably in Renewables. A Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering such as Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Technical Business Studies or similar. In-depth knowledge of contract management and financial-economic business processes. The following competencies are also important for the role: You possess an analytical and accurate approach, and you are result-oriented and pro-active. You have demonstrable technical and commercial insights. You have tangible expertise in stakeholder management and advisory roles within the tender team and business unit management. All Cost Estimators work for Boskalis Offshore Energy’s Business Units. In tender teams you will work closely together with the Tender Manager, Planning Engineer, Risk Engineer and Procurement. Where you will work: You will be based in the head office in Papendrecht. For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office.
