We are seeking an Analyst, Cost Management to join the McKesson Brands team in Richmond, VA. McKesson Brands drives the development and purchasing of medical-surgical products from international and domestic suppliers on behalf of McKesson Medical Surgical in the US, and other businesses with distribution outside of the US.

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • preparing analysis in relation to cost saving opportunities, and aspects of business/supplier performance
  • leveraging insights from this analysis to drive value through cost negotiations and volume allocations across the supply base, and
  • executing online supplier bidding events and other cost-saving measures

In addition, the Analyst will regularly participate in internal/external meetings between stakeholders in the US, UK and Asia, and have the opportunity to contribute to business strategy and monthly performance reporting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Business Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role in a multi-national organization
  • Sourcing/negotiating/cost modeling experience desirable

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in respect of both clarity of expression, and ability to interact effectively with non-native English speakers
  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex written and numeric information
  • Ability to work effectively with others to accomplish goals in a challenging environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills coupled with flexible approach to working hours
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes
  • Relevant currency/commodity experience/knowledge an advantage
  • Understanding of customer needs/requirements, consistent with organizational priorities
  • Respect for the culture, customs and beliefs of other groups or cultures

Technical Proficiency

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experience with Power BI a plus
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Play a key role in cost analytics and procurement of private label medical-surgical products
  • Contribute to category strategy in collaboration with other functions
  • Lay the groundwork for price negotiations with manufacturers, and from time to time participate in those discussions
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of cost models (Should Cost), in addition to other analysis as part of the ongoing evolution of advanced analytics capabilities
  • Execute online bidding events and support their continuous improvement and automation
  • Contribute to decision-making processes around the allocation of volume to dual/multi-source suppliers
  • Work directly or indirectly with manufacturers on growth incentive agreements
  • Develop/maintain long-term relationships with manufacturers, internal customers and external partners
  • Assist with queries from manufacturers and various internal stakeholders in relation to supplier prices / PO cost, and ensure that this information is accurately maintained in internal systems
  • Other ad hoc analysis / reporting as required
