The Cost Manager tasked with managing and controlling project costs to ensure financial objectives are met. This role involves developing and implementing cost control strategies, preparing budget forecasts, monitoring actual spending against budgets, and identifying variances. The Cost Control Engineer will review and approve the invoices of the Contractor and all the Project Stakeholders. The Cost Control Manager works closely with all project stakeholders to gather cost data, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting. The Cost Control Manager is responsible for analyzing cost performance, identifying trends that may impact project finances, and recommending actions to mitigate financial risk. This role reports to the Project Controls Director. Effective communication, strong analytical skills, and expertise in financial project management tools are essential for success in this position. Experience in hospitality-hotel-resorts is required. What You'll Be Doing: Will be responsible for exercising a qualified level of cost management including cost planning, controlling and reporting proficiency. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of reports to accurately reflect current budgets, invoices and committed costs; projected-to-go or cost-to-complete estimates; budget variances; cash flow projections; and schedule of values for individual projects. Provide trending information to assist in forecasting potential problems with cost and time. Manage work breakdown structures and revisions. Coordinate conceptual estimates for various design and construction estimates to provide program budgets. Development and maintenance of automated program cost database. Provide, annually, a fiscal budget and past period cost performance report. Provide, monthly, a consolidated program cost performance report. Proven construction experience in estimating, bidding and job cost preparation; and an understanding of construction contracts, scheduling and general construction management principles is required. Construction experience in change order review / negotiations process preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Performs tasks required by the Senior Commercial Director and Client on an as needs basis. What Required Skills / Qualifications You'll Bring: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or related field Proven experience (10+ years) in cost control, project controls, or financial management within the construction industry, preferably on large-scale architectural projects. Strong understanding of construction cost estimating techniques, cost accounting principles, and project management methodologies. Proficiency in cost management software, such as Procore, Oracle Primavera, or similar tools. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with contractors, suppliers, and clients. Certification in project management (PMP), cost engineering (AACE), or related field is a plus.
