Description
The Cost & OPEX Controller is responsible for providing financial oversight and control of operating expenditures across oil & gas operations. This role supports budgeting, cost monitoring, reporting, and performance analysis, working closely with operational teams to enhance cost efficiency and financial discipline. Prior experience in the oil & gas sector is an advantage but not mandatory Key tasks and responsibilities . Monitor, analyze and control operating expenditure (OPEX) related to operations, maintenance, logistics and service activities. . Support the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting and monthly variance analysis. . Track actual costs against approved budgets, forecasts and operational plans for rigs, fields, plants or assets. . Prepare and maintain regular OPEX reports, dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review. . Validate vendor invoices, ensure accurate cost allocation and coding, and support month-end accruals and close activities. . Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Finance teams to improve cost visibility and control. . Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and financial procedures. . Support internal and external audits, including Joint-Venture (JV) reporting where applicable. Qualification Requirements Education · Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline · Relevant experience may compensate formal education. Experience . 3-7 years of experience in cost control, FP&A or OPEX management · Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, IFS, Oracle, or similar. · Experience in the oil & gas industry is an advantage but not a requirement Interpersonal skills · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced proficiency in Excel. · Excellent spoken and written communication skills. · Ability to communicate at all levels. Knowledge · High attention to detail and accuracy · Strong communication and stakeholder management skills · Ability to work effectively with both technical and financial teams · Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach Other · Fluent in English (oral and written).
