Part-time term contract (4 days/29 hours per week) until 6 October 2028
$86,466.00 per annum plus superannuation

Responsibilities

This role places you in the heart of the decision-making process in the City of Sydney, working in the office of Greens Councillor Sylvie Ellsmore.
You’ll work in a fast-paced political environment, working alongside the community, stakeholders, and the office of Greens Councillor Matthew Thompson.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has demonstrated experience in policy and/or research, for a government, not-for-profit, or advocacy organisation.
  • Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in the preparation of policy notes, communications materials, and/ or stakeholder correspondence
  • Has demonstrative experience and/or a strong interest and commitment to social justice and equality.
  • Understands the current political landscape, with a particular focus on local issues.
  • Has demonstrated experience in a policy and/ or research, for either a government, not for profit or advocacy organisation. While not essential, experience in housing or planning policy, or campaigning, beneficial.
  • Has experience or ability in communications. This could include one of more of the following: drafting newsletters, electronic direct mail (EDMs), reports, website content, social media, videos, other campaign materials, and/ or using graphic design tools.
  • Is excited about working collaboratively in a small team, to support the Greens vision for a more equal and inclusive city.
  • Is available to work 4 days per week (though flexibility considered for the right candidate)
