JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. For over 100 years, bp has focused on discovering, developing, and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.
The purpose of the BP Legal function is to provide legal services to the Group to further the maximisation of business opportunities and value and the minimisation of business risks and liabilities. BP Legal lawyers and support staff work closely with their colleagues in the Businesses, Regions and Functions to deliver exceptional results in transactions, disputes and other issues.
Supply Trading and Shipping (ST&S) provides the BP Group of Companies with a specialist commodity trading function to monetise equity upstream production and optimise its downstream assets. In addition, through its Oil, Gas, Power, Global Environmental Products and LNG traders ST&S engages in entrepreneurial trading.
ST&S Legal employs some 60 lawyers co-located with ST&S’s principal trading businesses in London, Singapore, Chicago and Houston. The work handled by the ST&S Legal teams broadly includes the following:-
