In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Conduct research and monitoring of relevant laws such as REACH, RoHS, CBAM, ESPR, Batteries, PPWR, and their equivalents globally. Analyze relevant laws and develop simple, practical solutions for Emerson businesses. Draft legal alerts, legal standards, questionnaires, frequently asked questions documents, policies, procedures, training and workshop materials, contract provisions, and other required documents. Maintain a global database of relevant laws. Resolve escalations such as environmental and sustainability compliance issues in commercial transactions, questions related to product labelling, and customers’ request to provide information with respect to environmental matters. Provide training, workshops, and communications sessions to Emerson personnel on relevant laws. Provide subject matter expertise support for other legal practices. Support internal audits and negotiate with customers, suppliers, and any other third parties as required. For This Role, You Will Need: Law degree from an accredited law school. 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a commercial and international field (in-house or private practice). Excellent oral and written English and strong legal writing skills. Knowledge of EU environmental and sustainability laws. Experience in supporting international commercial transactions and manufacturing companies. Experience in conducting training. Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: Licensed to practice law in any country where Emerson has an office is preferred. Experience in industrial automation and in industries served by Emerson is a plus. Knowledge of product conformity legislation, as well as proficiency in other languages is a plus.
