Position: Counselling Manager
37.5 hours (Full Time)

The Counselling and Specialized Programs will be responsible for day-to-day operations, lead the development, implementation, of ECRC’s counselling services. This role focuses on providing trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions for individuals and families affected by gender-based violence, mental health challenges, substance use and systemic barriers. The manager will oversee a team of counsellors, case-management coordinators, facilitators, and program staff to ensure high-quality service delivery, community engagement, and program sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
· At least 3 years of experience in a management role within a social service organization.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in providing counselling, mental health services, substance use, trauma work or gender-based violence support programs.

  • Experience providing clinical supervision and staff mentorship.
  • Excellent relationship-building, advocacy, and community engagement skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage programs that address systemic barriers and social determinants of health.
  • Strong grant writing and report development experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a high stress environment, adapting to the needs of the group/participant
  • Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity is required to work effectively with the diversity of our client base

· Knowledge of the resources available in the community to Individual experiencing barriers to employment, homelessness, violence, and/or addictions.

· Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check

· A valid driver’s licence is a requirement.
Regular hours of work will be at the ECRC office between 9:00am – 8:00pm Monday to Friday, however the schedule is flexible to accommodate meetings. The employee will be eligible to participate in the benefit plan which includes extended health with 70% by the employer, as well as a match of employee contributions to an RRSP account of up to 2% of the employee’s gross salary and 3 weeks of PTO.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of ECRC’s counselling programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs,
  • Develop, implement innovative and culturally responsive counselling models, including one-on-one therapy, group counselling, and crisis intervention,
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to counselling staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and ethical standards,
  • Ensure staff receive ongoing training in trauma-informed care, crisis response, and culturally sensitive practices,
  • Provide day to day program supervision of the Counselling Team.
  • Provide long-term and short-term counselling to a small caseload,

· Provide crisis management and interventions that support individuals and families accessing service,

  • Facilitate both therapeutic group and psycho-educational workshops in the community on various topics (in person or online),
  • Develop resources on various topics based on the needs of the community,
  • Participate and represent the center on various sectors and committee,
  • Participate in staff meeting and team meetings,
  • Collect data, draft, and submit mid-year as well as year-end funder report to the Executive Director for review,

· Administrative duties including monthly reporting, statistical data.
