We are looking for an experienced counsellor to join our Counselling in Schools team to provide 1 – 1 counselling support to pupils 10 years and over. Support is provided in person however online/telephone sessions may be offered during school holidays if young person prefers.

Salary - £31,200 FTE starting salary, negotiable based on experience. Will be pro-rated for part-time hours.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualification in counselling, CBT therapy, psychology or similar
• Membership of a relevant professional body (BACP or COSCA)
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.

• Provide individual sessions to students, addressing their emotional and academic needs.
• Develop and implement care plans tailored to each student’s requirements.
• Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure a supportive environment.
• Utilise IT tools for record-keeping, communication and reporting purposes.
• Lead workshops and training sessions for school staff on mental health awareness and coping strategies.
• Hold a valid driving licence to facilitate travel between schools as needed.

  Expected hours: 22.5 – 37.5 per week
