ROLE OBJECTIVES
The Counsellor must be registered with the BACP, HCPC, NCPS Accredited Professional or an equivalent professional body; or accredited with BACP.
The Health 2 Employment Counselling Team is a progressive counselling service offering several different programmes aimed at supporting individuals with mental health issues to manage and improve their health. The Counselling team provide remote and face to face counselling programmes to benefit clients with their mental health, wellbeing and achieving goals.
You will have experience of delivering sessions face to face and via telephone or video call. You will demonstrate excellent computer skills and report writing skills and data inputting, in order to complete accurate, high quality assessments and clinical reports within targeted deadlines.
As a counsellor you will also be required to work closely with other services in the organisation.
Excellent organisational skills will be required, in order to manage day to day diarised sessions, and to work across different programmes and/or services as required. As an experienced and qualified counsellor, you will demonstrate ability to build good rapport with your clients, customers or other stakeholders whilst always ensuring confidentiality and professionalism, as well as working alongside the team.
COUNSELLING DUTIES
o Develop good therapeutic relationships with clients
o Offer time limited counselling interventions to a caseload of individual therapy clients
o Carry a clinical caseload and provide counselling treatments for common mental health problems
o Offer face to face appointments at our Cardiff Office
o Maintain accurate good quality clinical notes and service monitoring records
o Support the Counselling Team Leader in gathering and reporting clinical outcome and service evaluation reports
o Engage in regular peer and individual clinical supervision
o Engage in regular line management supervision where case management will be regularly discussed and reviewed
o Adhere to BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and our Professional Conduct Procedure, as well as the professional standards of any additional counselling or psychotherapy professional body of which you are a registered member
o Have proficient IT, data inputting and writing skills including spelling and grammar
o Complete clear and comprehensive reports
o Work closely with the commissioning organisations
o Contribute to the development of the Counselling Team
OTHER DUTIES
o Develop good working relationships with customers, delivery partners and stakeholders as necessary
o Conduct training sessions and mental health workshops internally and for clients
o Support other teams in delivering other services and programmes
Attend and positively participate in meetings, annual appraisals, monthly and quarterly team meetings, as required
