We are seeking a part time Counsellor to join our Family Support Team, to provide emotional and psycho-social support to predominantly pre-bereaved patients and family members whilst also supporting the Bereavement Service when required.
Isabel Hospice provides free palliative care and support for patients and their families living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses throughout eastern Hertfordshire, a population of almost 350,000 people.
The support that you provide will be on a one to one basis predominantly through face-to-face sessions, with some sessions conducted via Teams. The role requires travel to all sites within our area of eastern Hertfordshire, working from a base at our Living Well site in Welwyn Garden City and may also include providing support to patients and family members at our In Patient Unit. You will also work with other members of the Multi Disciplinary Team in providing appropriate services to individuals and families with complex needs.
To apply you should be qualified to degree/diploma level in counselling or psychotherapy and be accredited or working towards accreditation with a professional body (UKCP or BACP). You will need to have at least two years post qualification experience preferably including working within a hospice or palliative care setting. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is also required.
This role is 12 hours per week, to be worked on a Tuesday & Wednesday.
