MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree from an accredited university in counseling, social work, counseling psychology, art therapy, clinical counseling or marriage and family therapy. Two (2) years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting, including a college counseling center or community agency. Must be licensed to function autonomously in KY. Must be eligible to provide clinical supervision to 1+ graduate student trainees in compliance with licensing board requirements. (7 Salaried)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The University of Louisville Counseling Services and Well Being is seeking to hire a Counselor II. The Counselor II provides licensed therapeutic services including individual, group, and couples counseling and crisis intervention to enrolled University student patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides triages/intakes
  • Provides individual, group, and couples counseling to students, both in-person and via a telehealth platform
  • Prepares accurate and timely patient records, evaluations, and reports and completes documentation in accordance with professional and ethical standards
  • Consults and collaborates with supervisors and peers, Campus Health providers, Care and Conduct staff as necessary, as well as external agencies if necessary
  • Participates in outreach initiatives such as resource fairs and department presentations
  • Provides clinical supervision to one or more graduate student trainees as required, in compliance with licensing board requirements for the position
  • Represents the Counseling Center on University and divisional committees

Preferred Qualifications

  • Kentucky licensure allowing for autonomous functioning
  • Four (4) years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with patients that have substance abuse issues and trauma
  • Experience with group therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma treatment
  • Experience working in higher education setting

Work Hours and Location: This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, staffing, and/or scheduling. The primary work location for this position is at the Belknap Campus.
The minimum salary for this position is $59,655.00.
