Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced investigator to join our growing counter fraud team, investigate allegations, and provide support / advise colleagues on the prevention of fraud.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person with the ability to work as part of a team, achieve targets, and play an integral role in the delivery of the council’s response to fraud.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own caseload and supporting the council’s counter fraud initiatives.
You will lead on the investigation of suspected fraudulent activity, both internal and external, across a range of council services (for example, single person discount fraud and fraudulent use of blue badges).
The post reports to the manager of the counter fraud team, which is part of the council’s internal audit department.

Candidates will also need an investigatory mind-set with the ability to think outside of the box.
The successful candidate must hold an appropriate counter fraud qualification (e.g., the Level 4 Counter Fraud Investigator or equivalent).
