Position Title: Counter Lead Department: Building Materials Division  Reports To: Operations Manager  FLSA Status: Hourly   Location:  Colorado Springs, CO Position Summary The Counter Lead is a key member of our Sales Team, responsible for supporting contractors, builders, and homeowners by providing expert guidance on product selection, pricing, and order coordination. This position collaborates closely with Inside and Outside Sales teams and Yard Operations to deliver seamless, professional customer experience from initial inquiry through final delivery. What sets us apart: * A family-founded culture that prioritizes people and relationships * A workplace grounded in safety, respect, and accountability * Transparent leadership and clear expectations * Investment in employee development and training * A commitment to doing the right thing for our employees, customers and communities Key Responsibilities * Assist walk-in customers, phone callers, and email inquiries with product information, pricing, availability, and application. * Generate quotes, process orders, and conduct follow-up communications to ensure customer satisfaction and close sales. * Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of product lines, including masonry, stone, stucco, rebar, and other building materials. * Collaborate with Inside and Outside Sales Representatives to support their accounts and uphold high service standards. * Maintain showroom displays, samples, and marketing materials in a clean, organized, and up-to-date manner. * Track open orders and coordinate with Yard Operations to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. * Build long-term customer relationships through reliable communication and exceptional follow-through. * All other duties assigned. Qualifications * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the building materials or construction industry. * Strong knowledge of masonry, stone, stucco, rebar, and other building materials is highly preferred. * Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred. * Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency with computers and basic sales software; experience with ERP systems a plus. * Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong team orientation. Physical & Environmental Requirements Work Environment * Constant work performed in a climate-controlled environment Physical Demands * Ability to occasionally lift and move product samples weighing up to 40 pounds. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods when assisting customers in the showroom or yard environment. * Visual acuity to review samples, displays, and perform related tasks.
