American Welding & Gas, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Fulltime Counter Representative in our Evansville, IN location.  This position has the primary responsibility of assisting customers with purchasing and ordering products focusing on gases and welding/industrial supplies. Duties will also include maintaining hardgoods, receiving and inventory control.   Responsibilities: * Assist customers in store and by phone to purchase and order products * Handle cylinder returns, exchanges and purchases * Handle cash and charge account transactions.  Reconcile cash, credit card, and charge transactions and end of day cash drawers * Branch collection activities and customer retention calls * Assist manager with opening and closing store each day including securing all cylinders, locking all areas and setting alarms * Monitor inventory levels.  Check in and put away inventory * Receive freight and create bar code labels with part numbers * Schedule deliveries and service calls * Support outside sales team * Follow and comply with all company safety policies * Work with store manager to achieve/surpass budgeted sales projections while maintaining expenses within the parameters allocated by management to achieve profitability * Assist manager with building and equipment maintenance * Some After hour Deliveries * Other duties as assigned Qualifications * High School graduate or equivalent.  * Class B CDL requires Hazmat endorsement or the ability to obtain both requirement.  * Clean driving record.  * Ability to read and write English.  * Ability to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.).  * Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment, and company-administered road test.  * Ability to communicate effectively with customers.  * Experience in sales or customer service is a plus.  * Drug-free work environment.    Incentives:   * · Competitive Pay   * · Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits   * · Company Provided Short-term & Long-term Disability   * · Company Provided Life Insurance   * · 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with Company match   * · Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off   * · AWG Culture- Known for being one of the best in the industry, offering a family-like atmosphere and continuous growth opportunities, resulting in an industry-low turnover rate     AWG is expanding and seeking exceptional talent to drive our progress forward. Don't miss out on a promising future -Join our team today!    AWG  American Welding & Gas  is a manufacturer and distributor of industrial gases as well as a provider of all your welding supply needs.
