Job Description
As a Counter Salesperson, you will play a key role in providing exceptional sales support to walk-in customers at our Profit Centre counters. You will deliver outstanding customer service by maintaining a clean, well-stocked sales area and assisting customers with their inquiries, orders, and backorders. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams to ensure seamless support and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with their purchases at the Profit Centre counters.
  • Research products and provide recommendations based on our extensive product assortment.
  • Drive sales growth by managing counter merchandising, promoting products, and generating leads for the Outside Account Manager while networking with customers.
  • Accurately enter, pick, and pack sales orders placed at the counter.
  • Maintain and organize the counter area, including merchandising displays.
  • Notify the buyer when stock levels are low to prevent shortages.
  • Follow up with vendors on backorders and provide customers with accurate delivery timelines.
  • Process returns and warranty claims for account and cash sales, ensuring all paperwork complies with established procedures.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns and complaints efficiently.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager.

Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent; a college or university degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales.
  • Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with customers, vendors, and teammates.
  • Proficiency in learning and using software systems to process orders.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate math skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn how to operate material handling equipment.
  • Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience or knowledge of plumbing and building products offered at the Profit Centre.
  • Ability to utilize the Internet as a resource for problem-solving and finding alternative solutions for customers
  • .Familiarity with software such as Trend, Eclipse, Infor M3, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
