Main Purpose:
The Counterparty Documentation Specialist plays a crucial role in managing legal and counterparty risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating smooth and efficient trading operations within the commodities trading company.
This is a fixed term contract position with a minimum duration of 7 months.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

• 3-5 years experience in ISDA and master agreement negotiation for financial and commodity derivative trading
• Legal background, ideally English law
• Self-starter who is detail-oriented, hard-working, flexible and able to build relationships across departments
• Confident and effective communicator who is able to relay legal concepts to the business;
• Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, rigorous with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency and can prioritize various requests simultaneously
• Able to work independently
• Excel and Word/Outlook competent
• Excellent English verbal and written communication

Key Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and advise on various master agreements such as ISDAs, EFETS, BFOEs for commodity lines ranging from gas & power to carbon and renewables
• Review and advise on parent company guarantees
• Co-ordinate facilitate, identify and resolve internal / external blockages
• Advise all areas of the business on legal concepts in the master agreements as and when required
• Follow industry developments
• Manage contract management system, maintain templates for all agreement types
• Maintain global agreements tracker
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and systems development
