JOB DESCRIPTION:

Underwriter with extensive knowledge and experience working with large financial institutions. Someone who fully understands the CAMELS methodology and can quickly interpret financial data/ratios for their incorporation into the counterparty underwriting evaluation. We are doing more business in the derivatives space, so a firm understanding of IRD, FX, RPA-Outs, RPA-Ins.
Products are the underlying asset to – understanding where banks want to work given their risk rating, reputation, market analysis.
Must have financial institution underwriting – not underwriting customer loans
Needs to know banks & insurance companies
Leverage credit ratings
CAMELS methodology is used at Webster – grid format to then arrive at the actual risk rating.
Creating the underwriting not reviewing.
Regional bank experience wanted – JPMC / Citi / Wells Fargo as examples
Finance Background
MBA or CFA is a plus but not required
Get thru backlog of underwrites that need to take place.
Interview Process – Jenson + 2 others.
-Same day interviews.
- Microsoft Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word. Salesforce experience is a plus but not required
-They need someone who will do the work and can then clearly justify their rational
-7–10+ year experience – no one under 5 years’ experience
