Our Heartbeat Christian values permeate throughout the organization.   A successful candidate will have the following: FH is seeking an experienced Country Director (CD), serves as FH’s chief representative in the Philippines. Provides leadership to and manages all FH programs and staff in the Philippines. Within the framework of the FH Heartbeat values, mindsets and behavior, develops and is responsible for delivering on plans that contribute to the realization of the Golden Circle such that those we serve have the agency and resources necessary to be resilient and flourish.   The qualified CD will have 15 years of experience in relief and development or relevant industry with minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior level manager overseeing complex, multi-sector relief and development program in the Philippines; experience in managing intercultural team. Additionally, the top candidate will have a master’s degree in international relief & development (highly preferred) or bachelor’s degree with 20 years of working experience and 7 years of working experience as a senior level manager or equivalent combination of education & experience, and: * A vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian commitment to serving the poor, and in full agreement with FH’s Christian beliefs * Proven experience leading humanitarian and emergency response initiatives, particularly in the Philippines. Deep understanding of local disaster risk reduction frameworks, community resilience, and humanitarian coordination systems.  * Demonstrated knowledge and experience on systems approach and practice, human-centered design, and solutions design in a humanitarian/relief and development context; Proven ability to create and execute organizational strategy that advances corporate values, vision, and purpose * Expertise in navigating competitive fundraising landscapes. Proven success in securing diverse funding streams—from institutional donors to private sector partnerships—and positioning the organization for long-term sustainability. * Demonstrated ability to build and sustain high-impact relationships across government, donors, civil society, and communities. Skilled in diplomacy, coalition-building, and leveraging networks to advance organizational goals * A go-getter with strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset. Capable of identifying opportunities, driving innovation, and delivering measurable impact in complex and resource-constrained environments * Inspirational leader who motivates and empowers staff through change and challenge. Builds inclusive, resilient teams and fosters a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous learning * Experience developing organizational resilience, employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives with substantial proven ability in successfully managing and leading organizational change, including culture change * Ability to exercise budgetary/financial and internal controls systems analysis, and capacity building policy development and enforcement * Prior experience in a complex, matrixed organization, with the ability to scale processes in a global, professional, service organization.  * Non-profit ministry experience is a plus  * Medical fitness to live and travel in rural and urban areas with extreme conditions and limited medical support.  * Ability to travel up to 25% of time in the Philippines and internationally, to fragile contexts, and/or locations.  * Demonstrated computer operating skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and virtual conference technologies.   What you’ll do…  As the Country Director, some of the responsibilities will be (not a complete description of responsibilities): * Promote and model a healthy and visionary organizational culture along with a harmonious and effective workforce * Champion our Heartbeat values and exercises spiritual leadership, modeling and promoting the mindsets, skills, and behaviors that contribute to a rewarding, empowered organizational culture * Attract, acquire, retain, and motivate qualified talent * Coach, develop, counsel, and ensure accountability of the senior leadership team * Provide leadership, direction, and vision in managing change initiatives within country, bridging different ways of working, and diverse working cultures within the teams * Articulate, promote and advance FH global initiatives, priorities and systems that enable the organization to achieve the Golden Circle, consistent with local context.  * Ensure that the Philippines office is planning and executing strategically at all times in alignment with FH’s organizational direction. * In collaboration with senior leadership, and consistent with corporate strategic priorities, develop country strategy and related goals, outcomes, and objectives * Identify and secure the appropriate resources (personnel, funds, materials, and partnerships) needed to accomplish the country strategy through field, Affiliates, and other donor contacts * Ensure that the development of annual work plans and associated project activities, objectives and key results are aligned with the strategy and organizational targets  * Provide overall leadership to and enhancement of FH business development, guiding the strategic pursuit and acquisition of new sources of income and partnership opportunities. * Ensure FH keeps its promises and fulfills its Golden Circle by executing projects and supportive functions with the highest excellence * Promote performance monitoring and evaluation management, ensure data and learning are maximized to assist in the achievement of stated objectives * Ensure the organization is in compliance with all international, national, and local laws and labor regulations as well as the policies and requirements of the partnerships to which FH belongs and the best practices of our sector * Ensure close collaboration between business units and implementing partners through regular planning and performance meetings and reporting, especially focused on the link between program performance and financial compliance and accountability of the organization and program burn rate * Promote innovative and breakthrough programming by facilitating the development, testing and growth of new approaches, effectively balancing incremental innovation with core program models * Encourage, promote, and expand appropriate and value-added partnerships and collaboration with external organizations and groups by continuously promoting FH brand, abilities and programs to donors, partners and the public * Keep abreast of the trends and priorities of the relief and development community in the Philippines, including environmental, economic, social, political, and religious conditions, by participating in working groups, tasks forces and other bodies * Identify, cultivate, establish, and maintain relationships with partners which may directly or indirectly contribute to the advancement of FH strategic priorities or FH implementation objectives. These include but are not limited to: bilateral and multilateral aid agencies, foundations, private businesses, churches, Affiliates, and alliances to which FH is a member  * Represents FH as “chief of mission” at official functions, and as necessary, speak on behalf of FH in accordance with stated FH positions * Communicate with appropriate individuals to enhance and promote Safeguarding integration into program design and program operations, while ensuring the incorporation of clear Design Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) outcomes and measures.  * Ensure appropriate protection and well-being of FH staff, community partners, assets, and organizational reputation * Ensure that children and vulnerable adults are protected from safeguarding issues by all staff and FH representatives in the delivery of projects and programs in the country * Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures are properly developed and implemented in order to strengthen safety and security of all staff and FH resources * Actively identify, mitigate, and monitor all risks to the organization and initiate corrective action where organizational gaps or weaknesses heighten risk   What you’ll get… Along with competitive pay, FH offers insurance - health, life; vacation and sick leave; company paid holidays (not a complete description of benefits)   WOW us!  If you have the experience we are looking for - and want to join our mission - apply today!
