Employee Contract Type: Local - Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term) Job Description: The Country Director WV Burkina Faso will strategically lead, develop and direct the operations and implementation of all aspects of World Vision Burkina Faso’s ministry. You will be a leader who contributes to World Vision's Partnership life, in line with Twin Citizenship principles to ensure high Ministry quality and high impact on the field. In addition to ensuring that this ministry is directly contributing to the sustained well-being of children and the fulfilment of their rights within families and communities, you will also act as both a local and global representative of the organization. You will represent WV to all donors, project partners, other WV Partnership offices and divisions, local Government, Church representatives and non-governmental organizations serving according to given Power of Attorney. Please note: This position is only open to Burkina Faso nationals. Your Major Responsibilities will include: Representation of World Vision’s vision and mission and maintenance of effective external relationships Develop and monitor implementation of a country strategy aligned with WV strategic goals and humanitarian priorities Ensure the country office is appropriately staffed, equipped, and empowered Ensure the response is fully funded and maintain strategic relationships for grant acquisition and advocacy Initiate resourcing mechanisms and ensure strong financial and supply‑chain stewardship Ensure quality operations and timely internal/external reporting Ensure quality program implementation and adherence to humanitarian and child well‑being standards Establish and maintain relationships with churches and faith leaders, while engaging people of all faith traditions Provide leadership for effective risk management (programmatic, security, financial, safeguarding, and reputational) You will be required to have the following Professional Experience and Skills: Must be a Burkinabè, who is fluent in English as well as French, with experience living and working in Burkina Faso. A minimum of 10 years in a Leadership role in Development or the Humanitarian sector. Minimum of 5 years fragile context or Emergency Response experience Country leadership experience would be preferred Demonstrated understanding of key humanitarian principles, standards and best practices. University degree in Humanitarian Studies or relevant field. Master’s degree preferred. Intensive experience in leading a multi-cultural team of professionals Experience working in a cross-cultural environment Experience in engaging with governmental institutions and multilateral agencies Experience in managing humanitarian operations that facilitate innovation and calculated risk taking. Avoir au minimum 10 ans d'expérience à un poste de direction dans le secteur du développement ou humanitaire. Avoir au minimum 5 ans d'expérience dans des contextes fragiles ou en réponse aux situations d'urgence. Une expérience de direction pays serait un atout. Avoir démontré une bonne compréhension des principes, normes et meilleures pratiques humanitaires. Être titulaire d'un diplôme universitaire en études humanitaires ou dans un domaine pertinent. Un master est un atout.
