About the Role
The Country Finance Manager for the distribution industry in Baghdad - Iraq plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and strategic direction of our operations in the region. This position requires a deep understanding of financial management principles, as well as extensive experience within the distribution sector.
Your responsibilities

Overall responsibility for Iraq Finance function covering financial accounting, Accounts payable, credit, Accounts receivables, bank reconciliation, monthly financial book closing and MIS.
- Monitoring Credit limits for customers and ensuring prompt collection of receivables and pro-actively highlighting issues if any, to business heads. Active participation in the setting up of credit limits working in close conjunction with the BU Heads.
- Review, analyze and interpret monthly financial results to be translated into business decisions.
- Monthly business performance MIS - Budget Vs Actual and other business KPIs
- Participate along with stakeholders in finalizing country level commercial contracts (e.g Local services contracts, etc.).
- Ensuring Purchase Orders raised by the buying team are in line with budgets and at approved rates.
- Maintaining Inventory control systems at warehouses through adequate reconciliation and physical verification process.
- Compliance with local commercial and tax law requirements. Manage Tax filing and compliance to local laws and regulations specific to the market.
- Timely updating of transactions in ERP and ensuring reliability of monthly financial reporting.
- Banking operations, monitoring cash flow and speedy remittance of funds to HQ on a regular basis.
- Achieving performance KPIs i.e Timeliness and accuracy of MIS, speedy turnaround of approvals (e.g. Purchase Orders), Timeliness of Vendor Payments, Receivables control among others.
- Support and Guidance to finance Team.
Who we are looking for

Native Arabic speaker.
- Degree in accounting, preferably CPA/ACCA from a recognized University.
- 5-10 years of experience in leading the finance function.
- Previous experience preferably with an IT distribution company in Iraq.
- Strong understanding of local taxation laws and regulations in Iraq.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with working knowledge of Banks, Authorities (e.g. customs, Trade licensing).
- Cost- and success-oriented thinking
- Very good organizational skills and project management experience
- Communication and leadership skills
- Very good at problem solving and trouble shooting.
- Ability to cope in a busy and challenging environment and work to fast deadlines.
