Description
The Opportunity The Country Lead Australia – Co Sec Services will establish the Australian Co Sec offering from the ground up, leveraging a highly established, mature, and successful Company Secretarial service in the UK and Ireland as a blueprint for service design, governance standards, and best practice delivery. The role offers a unique opportunity to replicate and adapt a proven operating model to the Australian regulatory and market environment.  The role sits within a large international law firm, benefiting from its international reach, brand, and multidisciplinary capability. In Australia, Pinsent Masons is a fast‑growing and highly successful legal practice, with a strong corporate team. This role forms an integral part of that growth agenda, working closely with legal colleagues to deliver integrated governance and entity management solutions to clients. As a senior member of the Company Secretarial Leadership Team, the role also contributes to global strategy and supports the continued expansion of the firm’s Global Entity Management (GEM) Service. This role will sit in either our Melbourne or Sydney office.  Key Responsibilities * Start-up leadership & service launch * Business development & growth * Service delivery & governance * Commercial, risk & quality management    About You At Pinsent Masons, we do things a little differently. We are looking for high performers who are not afraid to try new things, challenge the status quo, and contribute positively to our culture.  * Significant experience in Co Sec service delivery from a professional services environment * Strong technical knowledge of Australian corporate law and governance requirements * Experience building or scaling services, teams, or offerings within a growth or start‑up context * Proven track record in business development and client growth * Comfortable operating in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment while aligning to established global frameworks and local corporate team requirements * Strong leadership, relationship‑building, and influencing skills * Experience working within a global law firm or international professional services organisation desirable   About Pinsent Masons Pinsent Masons is one of the world’s leading law firms, with a rapidly growing presence in Australia built on a reputation for outstanding work for clients and genuine care for its people. We focus on five key sectors: Advanced Manufacturing & Technology, Energy, Financial Services, Infrastructure and Real Estate. Our practice teams – Finance & Projects, Property, Risk Advisory Services and Transactional Services – work collaboratively across these sectors. The result is work for blue-chip clients on the full lifecycle of vital projects and transactions that shape markets across the world. In Australia, we are rapidly growing with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. We are well connected into our global network, which results in rewarding work and unique career opportunities. Most importantly, we are a purpose and people led law firm.  Our purpose is to make business work better for people. That means constantly questioning how the world works and then being bold with our responses. Our people are what drive this purpose. We want lawyers who bring their own unique experience to the firm, are constantly curious, and who meaningfully connect with their colleagues and clients. In return, we provide an environment where our lawyers can drive their development, work flexibly and learn fast. What will we offer you? * We have a global reach and a local feel. With 30 offices and 2000 lawyers operating across Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, you'll be exposed to domestic, international and multi-jurisdictional high-profile work, yet be in an office where everyone knows your name. * We do things a bit differently. Legal services are at the core of our business, however we have diversified into other areas providing complimentary services to clients through offerings like Vario flexible services. * We like to be flexible. Our firm is professional and allows you to bring our whole self to work. Dress for your day and in your own style and participate in practices that support your wellbeing, mental wellness and work/life balance so that everyone can thrive at work and at home. * We're lots of fun and very inclusive. You'll also have plenty of opportunities to participate in, and even run, social activities, diversity and inclusion networks, and charitable initiatives.   Diversity and Inclusion  At Pinsent Masons we value diversity and inclusion. We are committed to creating a better workplace where all our talent can succeed and feel like they belong. We want to attract, retain and develop people at all levels and encourage applications from all suitably qualified candidates whatever your ethnicity, religion, age, physical or mental disability/long term condition, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other characteristics protected by local law in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
