Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational and relationship management skills. Proven ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Excellent command of local languages. Experience in banking matters and transactions required. Some experience in corporate governance, compliance and litigation will be an advantage. Comprehensive knowledge of international, multi-jurisdictional laws and practices while staying abreast of regulatory and legal environment, internal policies and industry trends that impact the business. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Participate in the local Management committees. Management and coordination of the provision of external legal services. Liaise with Compliance in the development, updating and presentation of training materials related to local laws and regulations. Assist overseas colleagues engaged in projects and deals involving local laws and regulations. Manages the functioning of the Legal Department Draft and implement local legal policies and procedures. Manage relationship with said legal counsels. Review customer complaints that could develop into legal actions or have Regulatory implications. Provide solution-oriented legal support and assistance to the local businesses in accordance with strategic business needs and applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
The role involves managing the Legal Department and providing legal support to local businesses while ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. It also includes supervising a team and coordinating external legal services.
